What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
I have always been passionate about processes, and I know that makes me a geek. As long as I can remember I have been drawn to figuring out the “best” and most efficient way to do things, which got me interested in programming at the age of ten. In my career as a software enterprise architect, I fell in love with Rules Engines, and I even created my own for a very large scale, state-wide project because it was the most efficient way to make the project a success.
Artificial Intelligence is the next logical step up from Rules Engines, and I love using it to improve companies' processes but not completely replace them. I like to think of it as an Iron Man suit of technology to make your business bullet proof and fly! -
About me
My business partner, Pamela Grover, and I established Design Tech Consulting in 1996, about 3 months after we got married. Design Tech offered computer consulting and website design initially. As I was helping clients with computers, I realized that they needed help with custom programming and so Design Tech moved away from computer consulting and into custom software development.
In Fall 2023, I attended a conference for Enterprise Architects and it was all about AI. After that experience, I realized that I've been working with early forms of AI for many years. Since then I've dedicated myself to learning more about artificial intelligence, racking up over 400 hours of AI training! In January 2024, we decided to add AI advising and development to our company of almost 28 years.
As a board member of the Association of Enterprise Architects, I stay up to date on AI as well as discussing future trends in technology with my fellow board members who work for Fortune 500 companies.
My children gifted me a name plate that says, "Fixer of All Things" because I'm always fixing their stuff. I also enjoy making things and creating more efficient processes. I've built decks, sheds, video games, and much more!
I am a follower of Jesus, husband to an incredibly supportive wife, and father to three amazing children - 2 daughters in college and a 14 yr old son. Our family lives in West Bloomington. -

I enjoy coaching basketball (for our son), playing strategy games (card games, board games & video games), building things (decks, sheds, etc.), remodeling things (campers, rental property), and learning new things (especially about AI!)
