  • What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
I do what I do because I was feeling lost and disoriented both times that I got out of the service. I am a dual-service veterans. I was in the Navy first and then I crossed over into the Air Force after 9/11. I had a very tough tour when I was in the Navy. I got out feeling angry and bitter and I felt that way for a very long time. When the events of September 11, 2001 unfolded, I decided to cross into the Air Force. However, I did not transition and adjust well, so I did not stay in the Air Force for very long. Both times that I got out, I did not have any idea how to do, where to go, and what direction to take. I did not know how to do a resume. My first one was terrible! Military jargon, poor impact statements, and formatting. I was not well-versed in job interviews. Much of my experience has come from doing my own research, making mistakes, and learning from them, going to school, taking workshops, seminars, and webinars, and staying up-to-date in the industry, maintaining a coachable and teachable composure. In addition, I utilize my 20-years in federal service helping people understand the federal application process and the benefits of federal employment. I take the knowledge and experience that I've learned and turn around and teach others.
