What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
My husband Sean and I both grew up here on the Eastside — he's from Bothell, I'm from Kirkland. After starting our family, we wanted to build something of our own, right here in the community we love. We started Mukai Electric because we genuinely believe people deserve better from their contractors — clearer communication, more reliable follow-through, and work that's done with real pride. 'Mukai' means 'across the street' in Japanese, and that's exactly who we're here to serve: our neighbors. Every job Sean does reflects our family's name, and that means everything to us. -

About me
I'm Sara Mukai, co-owner of Mukai Electric alongside my husband Sean. I handle the business development, client relationships, and day-to-day operations side of our company, while Sean leads all field work as our licensed electrician. We launched Mukai Electric in 2025 after years of watching homeowners and builders struggle to find an electrical contractor who actually communicated well, showed up on time, and cared about the finished product.
I'm a Kirkland native, a new mom, and someone who genuinely loves connecting people and building relationships. Joining Networking in Action felt like a natural fit — because at the end of the day, our business was built on trust and word of mouth, and I believe the best partnerships start with a real conversation over coffee. I'm here to serve this community, grow alongside other local business owners, and make sure everyone in the room knows exactly who to call the next time electricity comes up. -
