Please introduce me as Diane Reynolds, Co-Founder of Matthew’s Light. We serve Houston’s homeless through outreach today and are building Cana Village, an innovative tiny-home community designed to restore stability and opportunity. I’d love to meet business leaders, community partners, and philanthropists who want to help create lasting solutions. -
What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
My “why” is simple, every person deserves dignity, community, and a chance to rebuild their life. After years of volunteering with our church and then leading their outreach ministry we’ve seen that the greatest loss isn’t just housing, it’s the loss of family and belonging. That’s why we created Matthew’s Light and are working to build Cana Village, a place where people can find stability, support, and the opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives. -

About me
I’m Diane Reynolds, Co-Founder of Matthew’s Light. My husband Ed and I relocated to Texas from Pennsylvania during the pandemic, and it quickly became home, especially since our daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren live here as well.
We currently serve as Local Missions Directors at our church, and much of our heart for the community comes through our work with Matthew’s Light, where we serve the homeless through monthly outreach and are working to develop Cana Village, a 110-acre community designed to help people rebuild their lives with stability, support, and opportunity.
Outside of nonprofit work, life at home is a little lively with 11 chickens, two formerly stray cats, and a formerly stray dog. I guess you could say caring for those who need a place to belong is a theme that runs through most of my life. -
