  • Describe How You Would Like To Be Introduced Via Email
Kent Olson is a Mortgage Advisor and the founder of the For YOU Mortgage Team, where “Extreme Hospitality” isn’t a slogan—it’s the standard. Kent helps individuals and families navigate the home-financing process with clarity, patience, and genuine care, making sure clients feel informed, respected, and supported from start to finish.

Beyond mortgages, Kent is also the founder of the Twin Cities Autism Foundation, and his family’s journey in the autism community deeply shapes how he serves others. He brings empathy, advocacy, and a people-first mindset to every relationship—because for Kent, business is always personal, and it’s always For YOU.
  • What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
My “why” is people. I truly believe buying a home is more than a transaction—it’s a major life moment, and how someone is treated during that process matters. I do this work to remove fear, confusion, and pressure, and replace it with clarity, trust, and genuine care.

My family’s journey in the special needs community has shaped how I show up professionally: with patience, empathy, and a deep respect for every individual’s story. I’m motivated by serving others well, building long-term relationships, and knowing that the work I do—both in mortgages and advocacy—helps families move forward with confidence and dignity.
  • Qualifying Questions: What are three questions we can ask clients to help pave the way for a referral? List them here.
Here are a few. And these can be adapted as needed, depending on whether someone is a parent? Or a professional of some sort? Or a special needs family or caregiver? Etc...

Do you know anyone who’s thinking about buying, selling, or refinancing in the next year and could use a trusted mortgage advisor?

Have you or someone close to you mentioned feeling unsure or overwhelmed about the mortgage process lately?

**Would it be helpful for you or someone you know to have a simple, no-pressure conversation with a mortgage professional who really takes the time to listen?**
  • Unique Selling Proposition
I deliver a mortgage experience built on Extreme Hospitality—where clarity, patience, and advocacy come before rates and paperwork. Clients don’t just get a loan; they get a trusted guide who listens deeply, explains options simply, and adapts the process to their needs.

What makes this truly unique is that my work in the special needs and autism community shapes how I serve EVERY client—with empathy, flexibility, and respect for each family’s story. I combine mortgage expertise with a background in leadership and a people-first mindset. The focus is to create a calm, confidence-building experience that turns complex decisions into empowering ones.
  • About me
I’m a people-first mortgage advisor, but long before that, I’m a husband, dad, runner (fair-weather only), guacamole-maker, and lifelong fan of Minnesota sports. My wife Laura and I have been married for 24 years, and much of what shapes how I do business comes straight from our family life with our two kids, Matty and Katie.

Katie is a high-energy high school junior—Varsity tennis player, new driver, and already taking college classes—who keeps me on my toes (especially on the tennis court). Matty recently graduated high school, works part-time, attends a transitional program focused on life skills, and proudly earned a state doubles bowling championship in 2022. Bowling with him is one of my favorite things in the world.

Professionally, I spent over 21 years in leadership roles...first in mortgage, then leading two real estate companies for more than a decade...before returning to my roots as a producing loan advisor in 2022. Today, I combine deep industry experience with a calm, patient, people-first approach shaped by family, faith, and special needs advocacy.

Whether I’m helping clients, running outdoors, traveling with my family, or playing card games at a restaurant table, I believe RELATIONSHIPS—and how we show up for people—matter most.
