I have always been a helper. From doing a rollerskate-a-thon to raise money for a homeless shelter when I was in grade school to working with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors as a social worker to my work as an acupuncturist I have always been focused on helping people heal and transform their lives.
Unique Selling Proposition
I designed Karuna Acupuncture to be an oasis of healing. It is a calm, safe, relaxed setting where your nervous system will be able to take a nice long exhale. I take my time at each visit to truly listen to how you are really doing (no small talk “I’m fine” going on here unless you really are just fine!). Maybe it’s my background as a social worker but I believe that people heal when they are seen, heard and valued.
Acupuncture is about a lot more than the needles. Those are important, but so is your mental health, your diet, the environment you live and move in, your lifestyle, your stress levels. I work in partnership with you, creating a customized treatment plan to address the whole you.
In a world where even acupuncturists schedule appointments every 15 minutes, I have extended appointment times so we have time to check in about your cycle, your mood, how you are sleeping, decoding your labs, and more. I take time to teach you ways to regulate your own nervous system and what to eat to truly nourish yourself.
With over a decade of experience, a Doctorate in Acupuncture and a board certification in reproductive medicine (FABORM) I have helped thousands of people on their path to parenthood and on their path to feeling like their best self again. My integrated approach incorporates both research-based and time-tested treatments combining acupuncture, herbal medicine, Maya abdominal therapy and functional nutrition to address the whole you, not your symptoms or diagnosis.
About me
I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Maya abdominal therapist with over a decade of practice experience. As a board certified Fellow of the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Board of Reproductive Medicine I have deep expertise in fertility, pregnancy and all things reproductive medicine. However, Chinese medicine is the second largest healthcare system in the world and has been practiced continuously for centuries so there is a whole lot more that I can help with! Migraines, pain, allergies, GI issues, insomnia, anxiety, depression I got you.
As a former social worker I love building lasting relationships with my patients. I have people who have been seeing me since I moved here in 2019.
