My Calling
My calling is: people realize courage and experience triumph.
The Ultimate Intent of Ace of Diamonds Painting
To transform boldly, serve powerfully, and triumph without question.
My Why
First and foremost, this is about my family.
I’m grateful for who I am today, but growing up wasn’t always easy or comfortable. When I was nine, my mom moved away. My dad remarried not long after, and home life became challenging for my sister and me. There were stretches where I lived with my grandparents, my aunt, and times when I was back at home while things were in transition. It wasn’t fun, and it definitely wasn’t stable, but it shaped me.
School wasn’t much easier. I was bullied for a lot of my childhood. Things finally started to change after I spent about six months living with my mom in Nebraska. I came back a little taller, six inches to be exact, and with a different level of confidence. Sometimes growth shows up in more ways than one.
My wife went through similar challenges growing up. We didn’t start our family intentionally, but we chose very intentionally to build something better. From day one, we committed to giving our kids what we didn’t always have. Consistency, safety, faith, and the clear understanding that they matter.
Because I know what it feels like to grow up without stability, I’ve built my life and my business around creating it for others.
That commitment is at the core of everything I do. It’s why Ace of Diamonds exists. It’s why we show up, take pride in our work, and hold ourselves to a higher standard.
I believe people are capable of more than they think. Courage can be found. Growth is possible. And with the right mindset and support, triumph is not just a moment. It is a way of life.
About me
I was born and raised in Longmont, Colorado, and graduated from Skyline High School in 2002. I later attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where I studied communication. During the summers, I painted houses and worked in a national internship program that taught me what hard work, leadership, and accountability really look like. Over time, I worked my way up to General Manager, leading more than 150 employees and learning the ins and outs of running a large operation.
In 2008, my wife Elizabeth and I welcomed our first child. Becoming a father changed everything. I knew I wanted more control over my future and a business I could be proud of—one that would allow me to provide for my family while building something meaningful. That’s when I decided to step out on my own.
In 2009, I started Ace of Diamonds Painting with very little to my name. I knocked on doors, handed out flyers, and earned every job one homeowner at a time. I showed up when I said I would, did exactly what I promised, and focused on delivering paint jobs that would truly last. Word spread, and the company grew—slowly, honestly, and the right way.
Today, Ace of Diamonds Painting is built on the same principles it started with: integrity, craftsmanship, and respect for people’s homes. As a husband and a father of four, I take that responsibility seriously. I’m committed to continually improving our systems, our team, and our service so that every customer gets a five-star experience and every employee has something to be proud of.
Ace of Diamonds isn’t just a business to me—it’s a reflection of how I believe work should be done.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on the golf course, out hunting, or cheering on our local sports teams. I love being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends, whether that’s a weekend adventure or just soaking up Colorado life. That time away from work keeps me grounded and reminds me why building a great business (and doing things the right way) matters so much to me.
