I genuinely enjoy helping others reach their full potential and I’m passionate about the correlation between sound financial management and a business achieving its goals. I like accounting and I love having the opportunity to use the results of accounting to help clients plan for the future of their business. -
About me
I was born and raised in Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Accounting in 2008. After working for RSM public accounting firm (formerly Tate & Tryon CPAs) in Washington D.C. for 3 years specializing in the not-for-profit industry, I moved to Colorado in 2011 for the mountains and obtained my CPA license. I continued working as an auditor in public accounting for Moss Adams (formerly Hein & Associates) gaining experience in a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Geothermal, Manufacturing, Bio-Pharm, and Healthcare services. After leaving Moss Adams in 2015, I shifted my career focus from accounting to corporate finance, assuming various finance roles in the Oil and Gas industry, including Senior Financial Analyst for a publicly traded oil company, and Vice President of Finance for a private equity-backed company investing in oil and gas mineral rights. Interested in re-connecting with the not-for-profit industry, I joined CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA, large CPA firm) in 2021 as an outsourced Controller, providing accounting consulting services for non-profit organizations across the U.S. Shortly after joining CLA, I took a leap of faith in myself and started Riser Finance and Accounting LLC in 2022 in pursuit of building a consulting firm that truly values its clients, its team, and strives to help others be the best they can be. I live in the Littleton, CO area with my wife and daughter. -

Hobbies and interest
Spending time with my family, and being outdoors in any kind of way are my favorite things to do. Weightlifting, cycling, hunting, backpacking, and camping are at the top of the list for me. -

Creating transparency in the financial condition of a business enables better planning, forecasting, and ultimately, the best chance for our clients’ reaching their full potential.
