From a young age, I knew it was my passion to help others. A majority of the change we can do in the world starts at childhood. At BookSpring we envision a world of families reading and succeeding together.
I grew up in Brownsville, Texas, and have a BA in Communication and a minor in writing. After college, I made the decision to pursue a life of nonprofit work. Having all four of my parents dedicate their lives to educating children, it was instilled in me at an early age the importance and joy of reading and writing. I'm thrilled to be a part of the BookSpring team working to build up literacy in Central Texas.
BookSpring is the leading Central Texas organization focusing on building literacy skills and the motivation to read through increasing home libraries and reading aloud activities for children. We provide a continuum of early literacy interventions through a theory of change that support brain development, family interaction, skill building and the motivation to read in children from birth through age 12.
Additionally, I enjoy gardening, crafting, and spending time with my friends, family, and 5 fur-babies in my spare time. My favorite children’s book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault.
