About me
Hunter Terpenny, CPA, is the Founder & CEO of Humm Accounting in Fort Collins. Humm is a full accounting department, fractionalized: bookkeeping, controller, and CFO services for owner-operated businesses across Northern Colorado. We focus on the business first — clean, on-time financials and proactive strategy — and then the tax planning that happens inside the business and for its owners follows from that. Our systems are designed by CFO-level experts and run on our own technology platform with heavy automation, so the team spends its time advising, not keying data. Hunter also serves as a fractional CFO and strategic advisor to growing companies. -
What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
Most accounting firms are built tax-first: they show up in April, file the return, and mention "oh, we also do bookkeeping" on the way out. Owners end up with slow answers and no real support actually running the business. I built Humm to flip that — business support first, and then tax planning follows. When owners have clean numbers, a plan, and an accountant who shoots straight, they can act decisively and build the business they actually want. -
