I grew up in Houston near Rice, but have called the Heights/Timbergrove area home for 20 years. I am married to Scott, who is also my business partner, and we have two children, Massey (14) and Colin(9) and a great family dog named Scout. Scott and I were acquaintances in college and have many mutual friends and experiences from that time of our lives, but did not actually meet until four years after graduation. And, the rest, as they say, is history.
While studying at Southwestern, I was asked join a a team of architecture students working on an archaeological dig site of a home in the middle of Rome on Palatine Hill. We spent our days "drawing dirt" as we recorded the cross-sections of earth for future study of the deposits. I also spent a semester on internship in New York City working in the Architecture Department at Rockefeller Center.
Professionally, I have had my company since 2009. Although Scott and I are both involved at all stages of our projects, I focus on the design and sales, while Scott handles all of the construction. Prior to opening Aberdeen, I worked eight years for David Weekley Homes in their Design Center and then as a corporate trainer and coach. In my 20's, my work experience ranged from home furnishings to computer database programmer to a graphic/website designer until I found my way back into home design and interiors.
