  • What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
    I enjoy making complex things easy. To many, health insurance and related services fall into that category. It is fun for me to walk people through their options in a way that makes sense to them so they can discover the right solution for themselves and their family members.

    I've been married to my wife Yuriko since 1998 and am a grateful Papa to my two grown children, Aiko and Bryan. When I was much younger and (slightly) better looking in the first part of my career I worked at Microsoft and then for a Graphics Card company called ATI Technologies. In those positions I learned to be extremely detail orientated and meticulous and was privilege to travel all over the world learning to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I started my first insurance agency with Farmers Insurance in 2005 and after many great years I sold it in 2018. I took a break for a bit and then started Simple Retirement Benefits in 2020 with my long time friend and business partner Mike Sanders. In 2021 Yuriko and I sold the home we raised our family in for over 20 years and downsized to a wonderful neighborhood in Round Rock.

  • Describe your perfect referral
    Perfect referrals for me would fall into 4 separate categories. The first is simply anybody who is turning 65 years old and needs help figuring out Medicare. The second is anybody under 65 that needs help figuring out their health insurance options, especially if they think they cannot afford to have health coverage. The third is anybody that is looking to preserve the wealth and security they've worked so hard to accumulate. The fourth would be folks who are re-evaluating their options in life, they might be looking to build their own businesses, or seeking to rely on themselves instead of a "paycheck". If you know people who would fall into any of these categories, I would love to sit down and visit with them.

    I guess it's also important to know that I cannot actually call a referral for Medicare, they have to call me. If the referral is for under 65 health then I can reach out, but, there are stricter regulations about over 65 and what I am allowed to do when reaching out. So, if you do refer somebody for Medicare, please be sure they know that they will have to be the one to initiate contact the first time.
