(For several years I sold life insurance and consequently went to many funerals. I helped widows and widowers through tough times - often times hardships could have been avoided with a little planning.) I strive to help people be able to enjoy the entirety of their lives without financial worries, as well as make sure others will not suffer when they are gone.
Unique Selling Proposition
For my pre-retirees and retirees, before we get to the numbers, I work with clients on the details of their life now and in the future. I even have them take a Retirement Income Style Assessment (RISA). I'm a RICP (Retirement Income Certified Professional) so, while almost all advisors focus on accumulating assets, I specialize in how to distribute them most efficiently, so one can max what is kept and left on.
About me
I began my career working with environmental engineers as a hydrologist that specialized in stream and wetland restoration. In time, I served as president of the NC Environmental Restoration Association for several years. In my second, and current career, I began working for a 501c8, then onto work with New York Life & NYLIFE Securities, and eventually to Hunter Street Investment Advisors.
Outside of work and family obligations, I'm very involved with teaching children's faith formation, coaching baseball, and charitable efforts. I'm also an active member of the local Knights of Columbus council.
Our firm offers free consultations to all, but for NIA members, I'm happy to offer a free RISA (financial assessment tool) for group members so they can become educated on their financial style.
