What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
I am very proud of the fact that since our inception in 1982 R. Godfrey Consulting has provided client consultation in pre-project situations to prevent unwise & costly product selection and purchasing. RGC assists the client by eliminating the gaps and mistakes that often occur during the Architectural and Interior design stages, product selection, contractor bidding process, building enclosure & acclimation, product delivery & proper acclimation of flooring products at the installation site, the proper substrate preparation and installation process and finally, protecting the flooring installation during the proper and timely move-in process. RGC also performs site inspections, provides testing and a report of finding that determines cause of failure, and if necessary assigns responsibility for the failure. In the long term, and in post project completion situations we assist the client and their attorney, as an expert witness, to assist in mediation, arbitration and to testify in deposition or at trial. -
About me
I am a native of Idaho. I graduated from Emmett High School and attended Boise State University. I am married, have 2 sons and one grand daughter. For the last 41 years I have been self employed as a Forensic Flooring Consultant and Inspector involved in providing professional consultation that save our clients a tremendous amount of consternation and significant dollars in project expense and potential litigation. RGC's clients include on a national basis, Individuals, builders & developers, property management firms, flooring manufacturers, flooring distributors, flooring retailers, flooring contractors, government agencies, national retail chains, the insurance industry and the litigation community. I have been involved in litigations in 13 states England and Mexico. -
Profession
My extensive experience in flooring retail sales, flooring manufacturering & sales, flooring contracting on a national basis and my 41 years of providing flooring consultation on all aspects of flooring and substate issues enables me to provide my clients with a unique perspective regarding their projects and potential flooring issues. I am presently involved in litigations in 4 different states. This combination of practical flooringknowledge and litigation experience enables me to "fill in the gaps" and prevent costly flooring related failures and potential litigation. I have been involved as a President of or officer in several flooring related associations. I was the President of the Southern California Chapter if the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) for 5 consecutive years. I was also on the ICRI National Board of Directors for 2 years. I was selected as a man of the year in 1984 by the San Diego County Floor Covering Association (SDCFA). In 1984, in conjuntion with the SDFCA I developed and produced the largest single floorcovering Installers installation clinic in the US. The clinic was attended by 483 installers. I was the President of the San Diego County Forensic Consultants Association in 1995. I also served as their Educational Director for 3 consecutive years. -
