  • What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
In 2011, I founded New Horizon Strategies, LLC to inspire sustainable change in the professional world.

    That sustainable part is important.

Because in my former career as a system manager and engineer at NASA, I spent many years trying to make lots of changes stick for different teams in different agencies and departments.

Sometimes a change stuck. But more often it didn’t – or at least not in large enough doses to make a big enough difference to the people and to the organization.

I was disillusioned: Things could be so much better!

    What was wrong?

After many years of struggle and many more years of training, I learned this:

The best technical and process-only plans, changes and improvements won’t last if people don’t get what they need.

That’s why today, our work considers both sides of the equation: tasks, tools and systems, as well as people, relationships and cultures.

Think about it: When people don’t get what they need – like security, belonging or respect – they can feel worried, fearful, disconnected, devalued, incapable, unworthy and unhappy.

    And then what happens?

    You already know.

People disengage. Teams fight. Projects fail. Organizations shrink.

The change you dreamed of … planned for … and worked toward is not sustainable.

At New Horizon Strategies, we’re out to change all that.

Because once people have what they need, they’re able to release their full potential fully and freely.

That’s where courage, innovation and creativity happen – and where we can have the biggest impact on the world around us.

Ask yourself this: Are we maximizing the potential in ourselves? In our teams? In our leaders – and ultimately – in our enterprise?

If your answer is “I’m not sure” or “No” or “Heck, no!” – then please contact me.

    Let’s work together.

And begin to inspire real, sustainable change in your professional world.
  • About me
Laurie's vision is to be the champion inspiring sustainable change in the professional world to help everyone come alive. "Don't ask yourself what the world needs -- ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." (Howard Thurman)

Laurie Hall – a certified facilitator, certified coach and seasoned speaker – founded New Horizon Strategies in 2011 to inspire sustainable change in the professional world. New Horizon Strategies guides leaders who are facing a change by themselves – and feeling stuck. We help them reflect, resonate, resolve, and refocus so they get bigger breakthroughs faster. Through our executive coaching, facilitation, and consulting, leaders move from transition to transformation. We provide individual, team, and enterprise transformation services to not only survive transition (which seems never-ending) but thrive with sustainable, positive change. Transformation can be an over-used word, but it indicates a simple thing. Have we adjusted our beliefs enough that we don't even question why we're doing something a new way? If the answer is yes, you've achieved transformation! What's on your #NewHorizon?

Laurie is also a frequent keynote and breakout session speaker on technical and motivational topics to inspire personal and professional growth, Laurie has presented at dozens of conferences and professional meetings to small and large groups.

Laurie’s NASA experience centered on management, executive facilitation, and organizational development. She completed Kepner Tregoe Project Management training and numerous NASA leadership classes. Laurie received her Bachelor of Science in BioProcess Engineering from Kansas State University and Master of Science in Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

  • Describe your perfect referral
First of all, thank you for any referral you provide! It's such a foundational way to share our business opportunities with each other. A question that might prompt a client's need for us is "Do you feel your organization/team/leadership style is held back because of a lack of alignment between leadership and strategy?" That's where we come in, helping with CHANGE LEADERSHIP. Laying out a perfect plan isn't helpful if no one is bought into doing it anyway. This is why typically only 26% of change management efforts are successful.

We appreciate referrals to decision-makers ready to buy Executive or Leadership Coaching, Team/Group Facilitation and Coaching, Mentor Coaching (for ICF coaches), and training/keynote speaking/lunch and learns. Those decision-makers tend to be Business Owners, CEOs, Senior Leaders, Business Development Leaders, Team Leaders, Conference Chairs, and other Coaches. We specialize in supporting Healthcare, Universities, Government/State/County/City organizations, and Technical Services (engineering, energy, environmental services, etc.)

The three areas we really focus our coaching and facilitation are our Individual Transformation (1:1 coaching), our Team Transformation (coaching and facilitation on strategy, team retreats, team building, communication, trust, etc.), and Enterprise Transformation (coaching and facilitation on strategy, culture, continuous improvement, etc.)

  • Qualifying Questions: What are three questions we can ask clients to help pave the way for a referral? List them here.
As a leader, are you, your team, and/or your organization going through a change and ready for external support?
Is there enough desire in yourself, team, and/or organization to see the need to hire an external coach, consultant, and facilitator?
Is your organization, team, or leadership style held back because of a lack of alignment between leadership and strategy? What is your greatest leadership challenge right now?
  • Describe How You Would Like To Be Introduced Via Email
I'm honored to introduce you to Laurie Hall, Founder and CEO of New Horizon Strategies. Laurie started NHS in 2011 to inspire sustainable change in the professional world. She's a "recovering engineering" from NASA who realized that true impact isn't just implementing a better process or using a better tool; it's about giving the people what they need. This can be as simple as enhancing communication or as detailed as implementing a cultural transformation effort. She has a team of champions that work with leaders/teams/organizations just like you to create lasting, sustainable change.
