  • What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
I have always known I wanted to be an attorney - specifically, a litigator - due to my love of crafting persuasive arguments and coming up with creative solutions to problems. I was drawn to the field of family law out of a desire to build genuine relationships with my clients and to help them through what are often the most stressful periods of their lives. I founded my firm in 2014 to fill a niche in the Nashville market where it is otherwise common for family law attorneys to be solo practitioners or to dabble in several areas of law. Our four attorneys work together as a team, and we practice exclusively family law. This has allowed us to devote all of our time and energy to being the best advocates possible for clients needing experienced family law representation.
  • About me
I'm an Indiana native (go Hoosiers!) who moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt Law School. I fell in love with the city and have been here ever since. I'm married to a Financial Planner, and we have two girls under three who keep us very busy! Before the kids were born, we volunteered with Big Fluffy Dog Rescue and Proverbs 12:10 Rescue to foster countless dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Now, our household is busy enough with our two kids, three dogs, and one cat, but I have still been known to occasionally jump out of the car on the way home from court to pick up stray dogs (and one chicken).

Our family loves to spend time outdoors camping and hiking. My hidden talents are cake decorating (Baskin Robbins was my first job), party planning, and Halloween costume makeup. I love horror movies, and I spend all year brainstorming what my Halloween costume will be.

  • Describe your perfect referral
I represent clients in adoption, divorce, custody, guardianship, grandparent visitation, child support, prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, pet custody, and orders of protection. Our firm has built close relationships with financial experts, making us specially equipped to tackle contested, financially complex cases; however, we also routinely represent middle-income clients who seek a fairly straightforward, amicable division of their debts and assets. My years of experience in Juvenile Court and experience as a parent myself enables me to work with custody clients to come up with creative solutions which will be best for their children. I am also always happy to meet with clients who are considering divorce to talk to them about steps they may want to take now to protect themselves in the future.

  • Describe How You Would Like To Be Introduced Via Email
There are specific ethics rules which limit how I can reach out to a potential client. Especially in situations of domestic violence or divorce, I am very cautious about the methods of communication I use to ensure that a significant other with access to their partner's phone/email is not inadvertently alerted that they are being contacted by a divorce attorney. Ideally, I would encourage you to have a referral reach out to me so I don't cross any boundaries!
