I got into this line of work to fulfill my purpose. I wanted to have more meaningful work by impacting and helping others while at the same time helping myself to become a better mom by balancing my work and home life in a more effective way.
About me
I grew up on a small farm in southern Minnesota. I am a middle child with an older sister and a younger brother. My sister has Prader Willi Syndrome which comes with many challenges. I learned through her the glass is half full mentality as everyone makes her happy. I was a cheerleader, dancer and golfer all through high school. My husband is my high school sweetheart- we met while working at McDonalds as teenagers and have been married since 2000 (I picked that year because I knew it would be easy math for him to figure out our anniversary). I attended Augustana College (now Augustana University) in Sioux Falls. I needed to pay for school and was very motivated to take a job in the summers of college selling books door to door in the South. It was there that I learned a lot of important life lessons that have helped shape the person I am- including deep integrity, how to overcome the fear of rejection, pleasant persistence and hard work. I am a mother of 3 beautiful daughters and every day I learn something new from them. I started out in the financial services industry, pivoted into advertising and have made a full circle back to financial services. I enjoy working with numbers, but more importantly, I enjoy people and knowing that I am making a difference in peoples' lives!
I enjoy a good workout as well as a good pizza shared with friends. I have three kids, so the majority of my time is spent with them! I spend some of my free time in the world of digital scrap booking and reading books. I also enjoy "glamping" with friends.
The ideal referral would be someone open to receiving advice and wanting to plan for their future (whether that includes education planning for kids, retirement planning or planning for the unexpected).
