I've always had an interest in technology, automation, and ideas that make easier. Further, I have a passion for helping people protect themselves. Becoming a patent attorney was an ideal fit for my personality.
Mr. Scott is a native Texan. He grew up in La Porte, Texas and now resides in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Scott graduated from the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He has over 20 years of professional IT strategy and transformation experience and is currently registered to file and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. Scott is also an Associate Judge with the Houston Municipal Court as well as a certified mediator.
Mr. Scott earned his Doctoral degree from South Texas College of Law Houston. He received recognition during his scholastic career by competing in moot court and mock trial competitions locally and across the country with the highest ranked advocacy college in the nation. He has experience in complex contract negotiation, business development and is highly sought after by other attorneys to provide consultation regarding the use of technology as it applies to changes in the law and your law practice.
Mr. Scott has extensive trial experience in multiple areas of the law with extensive practice in employment discrimination, personal injury, criminal and family law matters; however after many years of specialized training and practice in intellectual property law he now finds that using his engineering, technology, and litigation skills to help protect client's intellectual property rights is where his passion lies.
